Recipe Ingredients
- (a) parchment paper
- (b) chocolate whoopie batter
- (c) vanilla cream
Equipment Needed
- baking tray
- spoon
- spatula
- knife
Recipe Directions
- Take the batter out of your refrigerator and let it warm up on the counter for 15-20 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper (a). Form a cookie by dropping about 2 tbsp of chocolate cookie batter (b) on to the parchment paper. (Each cookie should measure about 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter, and you should be able to make 2 cookies per person.) Repeat until you use up all of the batter. Arrange the cookie pieces about 3 inches apart on the baking tray as they will spread out while baking.
- Bake the cookies for 7 minutes. Remove from the oven. Use the back of a spatula to gently flatten the cookies. Sprinkle each cookie with a light pinch of salt. Then allow them to completely cool (otherwise the vanilla cream will melt).
- When the cookies have completely cooled, use a knife to spread a thick layer of vanilla cream (c) on the bottom of each cookie. Then gently push two cookies (cream-side facing each other) together to make a whoopie pie.
